Epilogue for
a Road Dog
Issue 19
Loop and Carlos break into Curtis' apartment. Agent Graves is
waiting inside. He offers Loop the same case he offered Curtis but Loop also declines the deal. Graves tells Loop that he has arranged a
funeral service for Curtis the next day. Loop says he will be there.
Curtis has left Loop a baseball glove with a key inside. Loop has been
searching for the $100,000 from the job that went wrong. Graves
points Loop in the right direction.
Elsewhere, Lono sits
in a hotel room counting money and talking to a girl who has been tied to
the bed and gagged.
Loop and Carlos go to a ball game and Loop retrieves the
money from the locker room.
Carlos spots the notes in the bag and reveals why he is on the
run. He stole $2,000,000 from a man in Miami and is now
spending it. They go to Carlos' hotel. Sophie is
waiting, tied to the bed, Lono lurks in the shadows.
Lono kills Carlos
with a punch to the throat as he enters the room, and threatens Sophie with her life if she ever talks. Loop waits
behind the door to jump Lono but is spotted easily. Lono is interested to know why Loop
has a "magic gun". Lono
assumes Graves has sent Loop to kill him, but is surprised to find Loop is
Curtis' son. Hearing Curtis is dead he lets Loop go, having taken the
money. He advises Loop to choose sides carefully.
Loop and his mother
arrive at Curtis' funeral where Loop is arrested for
the murder of Tommy Yi. As Loop is taken
away, Detective Choisnel thanks Agent Graves for the tip off.
