A Crash
Issue 41
Once a gain we have
a good background story playing out as Agent Graves meets with three
members of the Trust at the top of the Seattle Space Needle. The three
assembled family heads are Javier Vasco, Fulvio Carlito and Helena Kotias.
They are plotting and need Graves' help. They
tell Graves that since the death of Daniel Peres, there are now only
twelve families. Augustus Medici has taken the territory and power of the
Peres family and divided it amongst the remaining families. Any objections
from the Peres family have been silenced. This would never have happened
in the era of the Minutemen. If one family moved against another, the
Minutemen moved against them. "Every pound of flesh is answered
for." Twelve
families is a bad number, there is no casting vote. Graves sees that the
house of Peres is not likely to be restored, therefore
removing another family would be the only way to avoid the tied vote. He points
out that the Simone family is weak. The
trio suggest that the Medici family is strong, too strong. They plan to
overthrow Augustus Medici but need Graves to do it for them. If he
does, then they will re-instate the Minutemen. Graves says he will
consider their offer. Comments
