The Counterfifth Detective

The Counterfifth Detective is a convoluted story that poses more questions than it answers. As Milo dies, he finally puts all the pieces together. Unfortunately this just leaves more enigmas for the reader, the motives, threads and any conclusion are left hanging for a later date.

On Accidental Purpose

Graves reveals that his next move is to re-activate the 'Point Man'. There's a vital bit of dialogue here...

Shepherd: "I thought we were saving him."
Graves: "We saved  them all. That was the point , remember?"

Subsequent events should reveal Wylie to be the Point Man. In discussing which Minutemen should be activated next, we learn the code names of two more, the Monster and the Saint. From Graves' description of the Monster, Jack Daw can reasonably be assumed to fit the bill, a man "wrestling with demons." The Saint? No idea, yet.

Cole Burns Slow Hand

A bit of background on Cole Burns, but little else. Maybe this killing machine has feelings after all.

Ambition's Audition

Mr. Shepherd shows once again that he plays both sides against each other pretty well. A little of his background is revealed, and Benito finally accepts that his fate with the Trust is certain.

Night of the Payday

Shepherd sets Lono up. This is discussed in 'On Accidental Purpose', and the reason will come out in 'Chill in the Oven'. Echo Memoria returns once more but ends up getting arrested, possibly ending her time in 100 Bullets. From what we know of her character, she would probably shift the blame onto Lono somehow, protesting her innocence, so maybe she is still at large.
