100 Bullets

An introduction to the main players and concepts. We don't learn too much, but the groups and characters that will emerge later are vaguely hinted at. In the church, Shepherd tells Dizzy that everyone is connected, and he knows who pulls the strings, which subtly alludes to something much bigger, forewarning the reader about the Trust. This sets a trend for 100 Bullets. We only ever see the bare minimum until we really need something to drive the story forward, but get thrown a few hints as to the greater mystery.

Shot, Water Back

Lee Dolan, not a Minuteman, ever. The events that ruin his life are too far in the past, done as a whim by a bored rich girl. Dolan acts as a wake up call for Megan's associates, letting them know that he is still alive. As such Dolan is a pawn once again, but in a much bigger game. We later see that Megan is familiar with the former Minutemen through her alliance with Lono and her eventual recognition of Milo. Hints of the Trust are seen, through Megan's brooch and an appearance by Augustus Medici. Lono's wordless battle comes into focus in 'Day, Hour, Minute...Man'.

Silencer Night

Li'l Moe and Big Moe re-appear at the beginning of 'Hang Up on the Hang Low', dead. Detective Choisnel has  completed his mission. Choisnel is also the officer who arrests Loop Hughes at the conclusion of that story. This is the first story to give a clue as to how long Graves has been playing his game.

Short Con, Long Odds

Chucky Spinks has been touted as a possible Minuteman. Time spent in prison, Graves and Shepherd both involved. It's highly implausible. Assuming he isn't dead, he shows no hidden skills at all, even hiding from a fight. Shepherd's involvement here is a mystery. Graves frequently plays his game, but not usually with Shepherd in tow. It's unlikely Shepherd is not the catalyst here, as Shantay would have started the fireworks regardless.

Day, Hour, Minute...Man

Waitress Sophie and boyfriend Carlos reappear some way down the line in 'Hang Up on the Hang Low', where Lono's fate at their hands is revealed. It isn't really clear until 'Chill in the Oven' why Graves wants Lono gone. The first hints of Atlantic City and the bigger picture are shown here. Graves says he trained Lono, but in Coda Smoke, Shepherd makes the same claim. Shepherd is also referred to as Point Man, a title later bestowed on Wylie. The Minuteman Graves activated in Chicago is finally revealed in Prey for Reign. Why is Shepherd listening in and for whom? How did he know which table to bug, and who calls him? It's not Lono,  but is it Graves or someone else?
