The Minutemen

The Minutemen. Seven hard-arsed killing machines who work for Agent Graves, seven Reservoir Dogs, policing thirteen rich, powerful and corrupt families. As long as the Trust have existed, there have been seven Minutemen, the two organisations go back through history together. The Minutemen carried out 'The Crime' that established the Trust. More recently, under Graves, they refused an order to repeat the crime, and for that, they were set up for a fall by Shepherd and disposed of. Only they weren't. Shepherd and Graves merely de-activated six of the seven and put them into hypnotic hiding, each of them waking up in jail in a new life. Lono wasn't in Atlantic City, so he remained active. Somewhere along the way, some other bodies were substituted for the Minutemen, as we know that their corpses were identified from a conversation seen in The Mimic. At least some of the Minutemen were trained by Shepherd. We know he trained Lono and Wylie, so we can assume he trained the rest. Shepherd himself was once a Minuteman, before he either "retired" or "was promoted", depending on the perspective. We don't know exactly when he stopped being a Minuteman, although it was before Atlantic City. Graves was once one himself, before assuming command of the group. Other past Minutemen feature in flashback sequences and in the present day.

Before Atlantic City, the Minutemen were Cole Burns, Lono, Wylie Times, Milo Garret, Victor Ray, Jack Daw and Remi Rome. In On Accidental Purpose we learned that each Minuteman also has a code name. Wylie is 'The Point Man', Cole is 'The Wolf', Lono 'The Dog' and Milo 'The Bastard'. Victor 'The Rain' was seen in Prey For Reign as the first to be re-activated by Graves, but then left alone. Jack and Remi hold the respective titles of 'The Monster' and 'The Saint'. The two new candidates are known as 'The Boy' and 'The Girl'. Loop Hughes is the boy. Curtis, his father, was chosen by Graves to join the club, but was never admitted because of his ethnicity. Dizzy is the girl, and has a deeper role in Graves' schemes, as her shooting of Shepherd showed. She was revealed to have been trained as a replacement for one of the seven in Wylie Runs the Voodoo Down. Making assumptions, Loop is to replace Milo. Milo's death was unexpected, and Loop, although talented, was not previously trained. Dizzy was probably brought in to replace Lono, who was out of favour with Graves. Shepherd told two different tales on who was replacing whom, depending on who was listening at the time. The Minutemen survived Atlantic City despite the Trust ordering their deaths. In On Accidental Purpose, Shepherd and Graves say they "saved them all", but their numbers have since diminished, despite Graves' insistence that there are "always seven".
